The Government of Canada Home Renovation Tax Credit is in effect. Save your receipts and get back up to $1350.
Between January 27, 2009, and February 1, 2010. For exact details visit the government website.
How it works: You may claim over $1,000, but not more than $10,000 resulting in a maximum credit of $1,350. You start claiming after the 1st $1000. For a $2000 claim ($2000-$1000)x15%= $150 up to ($10,000-$1,000) x 15%=$1350. You will need receipts and proof of payment. Goods of an enduring nature, integral to the dwelling, including the cost of labour and professional services and building materials qualify.
